IFF Update 2007 #5: Call for Nominations

       
Dear Colleagues,

Below you will find a summary of the positions becoming vacant at the 2007 IFF Annual General Assembly. Please think about members of your organisation that could fill these roles and encourage their candidature.

The IFF Internal Regulations recommend that the Board reflects the geographical distribution of the membership of the IFF. Bearing in mind last year's Assembly recommendations, the Board  strives towards oversight of projects and activities rather than hands on involvement in them.

At the Assembly, individuals who can serve on committees and working groups will also be identified.

The Board of Directors:

Jenni Evans, Australia, was elected President last year to complete an existing term. She is willing to be nominated to a second three-year term on the Board.

Janie Randerson, New Zealand, currently Vice-President, announced last year that she intends to step down from the Board at the 2007 Assembly. We thank Janie for the six years she has served on the IFF Board.

Marilynn Anderson, USA, would like to step down as Treasurer, but is willing to be re-nominated for the Board.

Helena Gezelius, France, would also like to step down from her current role as Secretary,  but is willing to be re-nominated for the Board.

Silke Maier Bonardi, France, is resigning as Member of the Board due to health and family commitments. We thank Silke for the three years she has served on the IFF Board.

Lena Brännström, Sweden, stepped in as Member of the Board early 2007 and is willing to stand for nomination (Lena replaced Torsten Last, Germany, who was unable to take up his position due to other commitments.)

Please note that the current number of board members, six, is a minimum.

Other positions:

Public Officer 3 years, 2007-2010, currently Annette Orphal.

Finance Committee Member, 3 years, 2007-2010, currently Lena Brännström.

Please remember that we are always looking for people to serve on committees and working groups.

The Board is currently making contact with potential members for the Search Committee and its members will be announced in a later update. The Board liaison to the Search Committee for the 2007 Assembly is Lena Brännström.
