The International Feldenkrais Federation (IFF) Academy is an International Forum where Feldenkrais Practitioners learn together, both in local groups as well as connecting globally; enhancing their work, themselves, their professionalism and quality in the use of the Feldenkrais Method. Like the Method itself, the IFF Academy entails an ongoing process of learning and evolution – not a finished product or predetermined structure. All activities taking place within the IFF Academy framework follow certain rules: All materials, created in teamwork, are evaluated, continued and networked, so that the improved versions are available for next users.
The IFF Academy Days follow this concept: The Workshops are facilitated by Feldenkrais practitioners or guests guiding participants through an unusual experience of Feldenkrais practice and/or theory which addresses them as responding and reflecting co-actors. According to the culture of the IFF Academy all participants have an opportunity to experience the flavors of the workshops offered. And they will be informed how the workshops progress over the day and how they may be able to plan to have these workshops presented in their own communities in the future. It is also part of the Academy Day to have practitioners experience some of the “principles” of the IFF Academy by becoming actively involved in the process of the day.
The first Academy Day was held in May 2003 in Soesterberg, Holland.

Introduction/ProgrammeThose of you appreciating to travel by train in Europe may once have seen a Swiss train dining car, advertising (for a newspaper) on it’s outside: “when you leave this train, you will know more”. This makes you guessing what it is, you will know more when leaving the train. We, the Academy Day committee wants to tell you (1) how you will get to know more by participating at the Academy Day and (2) what you will know more of and (3) which knowledge is meant. And your respective feedback about this increased knowledge will be collected (evaluated) before you leave the Academy Day. Design |
