Dear Members of the World-Wide Feldenkrais Community,

Ten years ago when I first began editing the lessons, a relatively few people in the community were aware of the riches Dr. Feldenkrais left for future generations of Feldenkrais® practitioners. The initial Alexander Yanai volumes were met with complaints about the difficulty of the lessons and the complexity of Dr. Feldenkrais' language. Slowly, slowly those complaints settled as people became accustomed to how specifically Dr. Feldenkrais used language to describe his aims and intention. Then, as more and more practitioners used the lessons, an appreciation for Dr. Feldenkrais' legacy blossomed. This flowering continues with eleven published volumes serving as a foundation for the curriculum of many trainings and/or the continuing education of many practitioners.

The Alexander Yanai volumes are designed to be, by legal contract, an archival record of Dr. Feldenkrais' thinking and language. Anat Baniel, Jeremy Krauss and myself took great care to ensure they were accurate reflections of Dr. Feldenkrais exact language and thinking. Now, the worldwide Feldenkrais community has a conduit for comments and questions about Dr. Feldenkrais' thought process. Enjoy using it.

On behalf of the worldwide Feldenkrais Community I thank Anat Baniel and Jeremy Krauss for the passion, accuracy, knowledge, and skill they brought to the task of making the Alexander Yanai lessons accessible. Before closing, I want to thank the volunteer proofreaders who transformed the task of editing the manuscripts from a barely feasible one into one of pleasure.

Sincerely,

Ellen Soloway
