IFF Website: New Functions. Issue #2: Newsletter-Selecting Your Audience

The intent of these newsletters is to update us all on how to use new Functions of the IFF Site.

Issue 2:  selecting your Newsletter Audience

The subscribers to the IFF Site do not automatically get subscribed to newsletters - this must be done manually. The process is not too difficult, and, once done, works quite well. Further, the process for assigning persons to the newsletter also gives a list of those already assigned, and so it is easy to keep the list current. 

(Note: newsletters cannot be sent to someone who has not yet subscribed to the IFF Site)

The Steps

1. Click the "admin" (near top right)
Select "Newsletters" (or use this link: http://feldenkrais-method.org/en/admin/content/newsletters)

2. Select "Subscriptions"
Choose the Newsletter (Usually IFF Updates)

3. You will see a box labelled, "Subscription Filters". In this box you can choose a newsletter type and click "fliter" to see who is already subscribed to the newsletter.
Or, you can enter a specific person's e-mail address (use the complete one)
and it will show that person below.
The "wildcard" character is "%". Thus, to find George Krutz, search for his
e-mail using %krut%, or Jenni Evans, use "%jen%

Below this, you will see a long list of persons who have usernames.

You have a choice:
(1) find the person using the subscription Filter; or
(2) search for the person by scrolling through the pages

4. When you have selected the person,
4.1. click EDIT to see which newsletters have already been assigned to the person. You will see a new page titled "Subscriptions for feldejenni@earthlink.com.au"
4.2. Click the input box beside the newsletter she wants
4.3. click the Update button

5. You will be returned to the list of subscriptions page.
Click the input box beside Jenni's name, AND also click the "UPDATE" button in the box titled, "Update options". Also ensure that the drop-down option is "Activate".

6. You are done. If you feel your newsletter is complete, then go to it, click 'edit', scroll down to the  "Sending" section, and click 'send newsletter'. Go to the bottom and click 'SUBMIT'.
