IFF Academy for Feldenkrais Practitioners

» FAQ » admin

Conditions to run an IFF Academy Workshop

The opportunity to run IFF Academy workshop comes with some rights and responsibilities in the frame of the IFF Academy which consists of many projects to support Practitioners to develop their practice and understanding of the Feldenkrais Method. The IFF Academy has also developed a cultural context for these activities and when you agree to work with these principles you can then access the materials in detail. The workshop can be taught in the frame of a Local Academy Foot (LAF). The formation of a Local Academy Foot is very easy and uncomplicated. You need at least one Feldenkrais partner to team up with and you just register with contact information and a name for your LAF with the IFF Academy Coordinator (email: academy@feldenkrais-method.org).Your LAF will then join all the others listed on the Interactive Academy Website.

You receive the guidelines for the respective workshop that you are interested in from the people who developed it. There will be no charge for that, because the IFF Academy activities are offered as so called “open sources”. In return an evaluation or a field report has to be provided to the IFF Academy after the workshop. Through that procedure your experience will not get lost but will flow back into a continuous development of the workshop design and of the materials. By sharing your experiences and ideas for future development of the workshop, another group, perhaps in another country and another language can benefit from your learning and enhance the process when they return their feedback and evaluation. In this way participants in the IFF Academy can really support the whole global network of Feldenkrais Practitioners.

All this information will be published on the Interactive Academy Website. For that reason at least one person from your team should apply for access to this website: http://gme.groupmindexpress.com/iff/ (The application is very simple!). We suggest that this person has reasonable comfort both with using a computer and with the English language.

Also in this place you will find information for other workshop formats, which you can teach in the frame of your LAF. You also can contribute with new workshop formats to the IFF Academy, which means develop your own project. If you have ideas or have used learning formats that you think would sit comfortably within the IFF Academy frame and principles, please contact us.

By the way, we explicitly suggest asking your workshop participants for a fee for your work, since one of the concerns of the IFF Academy is to support professional work.

We hope that your experience/interest in one of the IFF Academy workshops has had or will have a positive influence on your learning and practice and also you have the enthusiasm to take this out to share with others in your community.

We look forward to hearing from you and wish you all the very best for your Feldenkrais future!
