The IFF Archive: Preserving Moshe Feldenkrais' Legacy
The International Feldenkrais® Federation (IFF) Archive collects, preserves, and shares the teachings and materials created by Dr. Moshe Feldenkrais, D.Sc., for the benefit of the global Feldenkrais community.
Highlights of the Archive
- In 2002, over 800 items from the Feldenkrais Institute in Tel Aviv were entrusted to the IFF by Michel Silice-Feldenkrais, representing the Feldenkrais family.
- The archive includes:
1,700 photos of Moshe practicing Judo.
1,500 photos from the San Francisco Training Program, donated by Bob Knighton.

Ongoing Work
- Materials are stored in safe, climate-controlled conditions.
- Progress includes:
Digitizing fragile tapes and documents, including The Potent Self manuscript.
Cataloging thousands of photographs for future online galleries.
Preserving newspaper articles and over 80 hours of workshop audio in multiple languages.
Supporting researchers, including work on a biography by Mark Reese.
Acquiring additional items from contributors like the New York Public Library and private donors.
Future Plans
- Developing community access policies and expanding digital offerings.
- Preparing archival recordings for affordable publication through the “From the Archive” series.
- Assessing lectures and recordings in German, French, and Hebrew for translation and release.
- Continuing fundraising to support preservation and access efforts.
