Awareness Through Movement Lesson: Foot in the Hand, Lying on the Back by Moshe Feldenkrais

As far as I know this Awareness Through Movement lesson (ATM) is the only complete lesson spoken in German by Dr. Feldenkrais himself. In all likelihood the text was authored by Feldenkrais‘ close friend and German translator Franz Wurm.

The ATM starts relatively easily, but the level of difficulty increases towards the end, so that even experienced Feldenkrais practitioners might find it challenging. If you have little or no experience of Feldenkrais lessons, allow yourself ample time for pauses and do not feel obliged to complete the lesson.

“The Musculature of the Soul”. A lecture broadcast January 19, 1968 by Moshe Feldenkrais

This is a presentation of the Feldenkrais Method that was broadcast on Swiss Radio in 1968. The text was written by Dr. Feldenkrais and edited by his friend Franz Wurm, who was also responsible for the introduction. The present edit of the audio file was made by Patrick Gruner. He added a large number of images from the IFF Archive of the Feldenkrais Method® as well as the running text for the listener’s convenience. A downloadable PDF file is available in German and Spanish.

Awareness Through Movement Lesson: Freeing the Left Shoulder and Hip. 21 May, 1973 by Moshe Feldenkrais

This Awareness Through Movement lesson (ATM) was recorded in Paris at the Dolto’s (Françoise Dolto was a renowned pediatrician and psychoanalyst). The lesson is done lying on the side and does not pose any problem for beginners. However, the rhythm of this ATM is rather fast and Dr. Feldenkrais does not give you much time for pauses. Don’t hesitate to stop the recording and give yourself time to rest whenever you need it.
