Governance

The IFF was founded and incorporated in Paris in 1992. Decisions are made by the General Assembly, which meets in a different country each year. Business is executed by a Board of Directors and an administrator.

How is the IFF run?

Most of the work of the IFF is done by practitioners who volunteer their time.

At the Annual Assembly, the member Associations and Guilds send representatives, who gather to share views, discuss issues and ideas, hear reports on IFF programs, decide on budgets, and elect the Board and committees.

The IFF Board is responsible for the day-to-day operations and do much of the work, assisted by part-time Administrator and Materials Manager.

Interested in getting involved with the IFF?

If you are interested in volunteering to serve as a representative, please contact your local Association or Guild. If you are interested in helping with projects, such as reviewing or developing materials, contact the Materials Manager.
